In Monster Hunter Wilds, Every Weapon Has Its Own Unique Design - IGN First
Monster Hunter Rise's weapon designs were a point of contention among fans, prompting concerns about the aesthetic direction of Monster Hunter Wilds. While initial reveals offered limited insight, Director Yuya Tokuda has confirmed a significant departure from its predecessor.
Tokuda stated regarding the Hope series armor and weapons: "Weapon designs in Monster Hunter: World generally retained a certain form, featuring customized appearances based on monster materials. However, in Wilds, each weapon boasts a unique design."
This directly addresses concerns about design similarity. Unlike Monster Hunter: World, where even highly upgraded weapons sometimes retained a family resemblance (as seen below in the Aqua and Bone weapon lines), Wilds prioritizes distinct designs for each weapon.
