Josef Fares Unveils Split Fiction Insights in Interview

In a recent interview with MinnMax, Josef Fares, the head of Hazelight Studios, provided exciting insights into their upcoming game, Split Fiction. Reiterating the studio's steadfast commitment, Fares confirmed that Hazelight will continue to steer clear of live-service models and microtransactions. He also emphasized that the studio has no plans to go public or be acquired by a larger corporation, stating, "We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."

Fares revealed that the main storyline of Split Fiction is expected to last approximately 12-14 hours, which is comparable to the duration of their previous hit, It Takes Two. For players eager to dive deeper, the game offers optional missions and additional content, potentially extending the gameplay experience to 16-17 hours.

While Hazelight is renowned for its cooperative gameplay titles, Fares hinted at the possibility of venturing into single-player games in the future. He also disclosed that the budget for Split Fiction is double that of It Takes Two. Despite this significant investment, the studio remains committed to not releasing any post-launch DLC, ensuring that all features are available to players from the very first day.

Mark your calendars: Split Fiction is set to launch globally on March 6th, and will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Get ready for another immersive experience from Hazelight Studios.
