Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remake to Feature Major Game Mechanics Overhaul
Exciting news for fans of The Elder Scrolls series! The MP1st website has recently unveiled intriguing details about an unannounced remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. These insights stem from the portfolio of an unnamed developer from Virtuos Studio, rather than from traditional insider sources. This project, developed on the cutting-edge Unreal Engine 5, promises to bring significant enhancements to the beloved classic.
The remake is set to be a comprehensive reimagining of Oblivion, featuring overhauls to core mechanics such as stamina, stealth, attack blocking, archery, damage reactions, and the user interface. For instance, the revamped blocking mechanics will take inspiration from Soulslike games, addressing the original's perceived shortcomings. The damage calculation system has also been reworked to include visible reactions to hits, while stamina is expected to be more user-friendly. Additionally, both the UI and archery mechanics will be updated to reflect current gaming trends.
According to MP1st, the project initially started as a remaster, as hinted by leaked Microsoft documents, but has since evolved into a full-fledged remake. The publication sought confirmation from its sources, who revealed that the Oblivion remake will not be featured at the upcoming Developer_Direct. However, there are whispers that we might not have to wait long, with potential release rumors circulating for later this year.
