Summer Game Fest Unveils Death Stranding 2 Clip
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set to launch later this month, but for eager fans, Hideo Kojima unveiled a fresh trailer at today's Summer Game Fest.
The new footage introduces two key characters: Lucy (portrayed by Alissa Jung) and Neil (played by Luca Marinelli). Neil is a porter, similar to our protagonist Sam Porter Bridges. A shared hand brand triggers a powerful, emotional exchange between them, with Neil seemingly recognizing Lucy from a past encounter and Lucy reacting with intense distress. Kojima notes that Neil's role, in terms of performance and emotional weight, will be comparable to Mads Mikkelsen's character from the previous game.
Death Stranding 2 continues the story of Hideo Kojima's open-world delivery adventure, following Fragile and Sam Bridges many years after the original events.
Back in September, Kojima Productions released several gameplay clips for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, showcasing its bizarre photo mode, dancing puppet soldiers, a character played by Mad Max director George Miller, and more of Kojima's signature eccentricities.
Other previews have featured a shirtless Norman Reedus wading through dark sludge to meet a figure named Tarman (also played by Miller) and his airborne feline companion, alongside a unsettling talking puppet. The cast also includes Tomorrow (Elle Fanning) and Rainy (Shioli Kutsuna). The game arrives exclusively on PS5 on June 26, 2025.
