Sony to Host Japan State of Play This Week

Author : Skylar Update : May 12,2026

Sony has set the stage for a special State of Play broadcast dedicated to Japanese and Asian games, streaming online later this week.

The presentation is scheduled for 2 PM Pacific / 5 PM Eastern / 10 PM UK Time on Tuesday, November 11. For viewers in Japan, it will air at 7 AM on Wednesday, November 12.

PlayStation confirms the show will run for "over 40 minutes," packed with new information on games developed in Japan and Asia, "plus a few other exciting updates."

Unlike Sony's standard State of Play format, this edition will feature a host — renowned voice actor Yuki Kaji — and concentrate on upcoming titles from a specific region. The broadcast will be in Japanese but will include English subtitles.

So, what can viewers anticipate? A deeper look at *Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls* is highly likely. This PlayStation-published fighting game, announced in June as a collaboration between Arc System Works, Sony, and Marvel Games, is slated for a 2026 release on PlayStation 5 and PC.

Could we finally get a release date for *Phantom Blade Zero*, the anticipated wuxia action RPG for PS5 and PC? News on its launch plans is expected imminently. There's also the possibility of updates on projects like the *Horizon* MMO reportedly in development at NCSoft.

Sony's previous State of Play in September 2025 delivered a gameplay trailer and release window for *Marvel's Wolverine*, plus an extended look and launch date for Housemarque's *Saros*. Tune in tomorrow for all the latest reveals — we'll be covering the news as it breaks.
