El inesperado anuncio del desarrollo de Space Marine 3 provocó conmoción en la comunidad de Warhammer 40,000, generando preocupaciones sobre el futuro soporte de Space Marine 2.

El editor Focus Entertainment y el desarrollador Saber Interactive anunciaron Space Marine 3 a mediados de marzo, apenas seis meses después del lanzamiento de Space Marine 2, en un momento en que los fans ya cuestionaban el plan de contenido post-lanzamiento del juego.

En un nuevo comunicado, ambas empresas abordaron directamente estas preocupaciones, reafirmando su compromiso con Space Marine 2 mientras adelantaban emocionante contenido próximamente.

"Si bien nos entusiasma vuestro interés por el anuncio de Space Marine 3, entendemos las dudas sobre el desarrollo continuo de Space Marine 2", decía el comunicado.

"Quede claro: el desarrollo de Space Marine 3 no significa el fin de Space Marine 2. No se están desviando equipos, y nuestro compromiso de ofrecer más contenido increíble sigue intacto."

La hoja de ruta incluye el lanzamiento del Parche 7 a mediados de abril junto con planes para una nueva clase de personaje, operaciones PvE adicionales y nuevas armas cuerpo a cuerpo en los próximos meses. "Tenemos sorpresas que ni los minadores de datos han descubierto aún :)", adelantaba el comunicado.
