A Regular Stream of Diverse AC Experiences
During an interview on Ubisoft's website, Guillemot confirmed the development of several Assassin's Creed remakes, although he didn't specify which titles. He stated, "Players can look forward to several remakes, allowing us to revisit past games and modernize them; some older Assassin's Creed worlds are incredibly rich and ripe for revisiting." Fans can anticipate a revitalization of classic Assassin's Creed entries.
Guillemot also hinted at a diverse range of upcoming experiences. "Expect a variety of experiences. The goal is more regular Assassin's Creed releases, but each year won't be the same experience," he explained.
Upcoming titles like Assassin's Creed Hexe and Assassin's Creed Shadows promise unique gameplay. Hexe, set in 16th-century Europe, is slated for a 2026 release, while the mobile title, Assassin's Creed Jade, is expected in 2025. Assassin's Creed Shadows, set in feudal Japan, launches November 15, 2024.
Ubisoft has a history of remastering classic titles, including Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection (2016) and Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered (2018). Last year, rumors circulated about a potential Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake, though Ubisoft hasn't confirmed this.
Ubisoft Embraces Generative AI
Guillemot also discussed technological advancements in game development. He highlighted Assassin’s Creed Shadows' dynamic weather system, impacting gameplay and visuals. He emphasized the potential of generative AI to enhance game worlds.
"Technology is rapidly evolving, offering limitless possibilities," Guillemot observed. "Assassin's Creed Shadows, for instance, features a weather system affecting gameplay; previously swimmable ponds might freeze."
"Visually, the series is making a significant leap forward. I believe generative AI can significantly enhance NPCs, making them more intelligent and interactive," he added. "This could extend to animals and the environment itself. We can still greatly enhance these open worlds to be even more dynamic."
