Application Description
War of Empire Conquest (WOE) is an engaging real-time strategy (RTS) mobile game that thrives on competitive player-versus-player (PvP) action. In WOE, one player initiates a match, inviting others to join and engage in fierce medieval battles. With the ability to manually control all types of units and buildings, players enjoy a high degree of freedom in their strategic decisions.
Main Elements:
WOE brings to life 18 powerful Empires, each representing a unique civilization from the medieval ages, such as China, Japan, Persia, Teutonic, Mongolian, Gothic, and Maya, among others. Each Empire boasts 8 types of regular units, consistent across all civilizations, and one unique unit that sets it apart. For instance, Mongolia has Riders, Persia boasts War Elephants, and Spain features Conquistadors.
The regular units encompass:
- Swordsman: A staple unit known for its versatility.
- Pikeman: Effective against Cavalry but susceptible to arrows.
- Archers: Vulnerable to Cavalry, yet they excel against Pikemen.
- Light Cavalry: Noted for speed, mobility, and their role in harassing opponents.
- Aries: Specifically designed for attacking buildings.
The game also features various buildings such as Towers, Turrets, Castles, and Blacksmith Shops. Towers, for example, are offensive structures that can launch six arrows simultaneously when manned by five farmers. Turrets are specialized for demolishing enemy buildings.
Each Empire in WOE comes with its own set of strengths and weaknesses, encouraging players to delve into the game to explore detailed introductions. For instance, the Huns benefit from not needing to construct houses, which saves time, and their Cavalry is both cheaper and can be upgraded to Rangers. In contrast, the Teutonic warriors are exceptionally strong but slow-moving, reminiscent of historical Spartan warriors.
Highlights:
The essence of WOE's gameplay lies in juggling multiple tasks simultaneously post-match start:
- Develop Economy: Focus on producing and safeguarding farmers to maximize resource collection, using structures like Town Centers (TC) and Towers as temporary shelters.
- Harass Enemies: Early in the game, deploy a few units to disrupt enemy resource gathering, thereby gaining an edge.
- Destroy Enemies: Engage and overpower enemy forces.
Collaboration is key in WOE. Players must work with allies to form legions, strategizing to overcome numerically superior foes and protect vulnerable yet potent units. Understanding unit counters and fostering teamwork is crucial, with examples including Pikemen restraining Cavalry, Cavalry overpowering Archers, and Archers dominating Pikemen.
Game Modes:
WOE features two primary resources: Food and Gold. As players advance, they can upgrade their TC from the dark ages through to the feudal, castle, and emperor eras, unlocking new technologies, buildings, and units along the way. The game offers four main modes, with Normal and Imperial Deathmatch being the most popular:
- Normal Mode: With limited resources, this mode emphasizes development and strategic early harassment, making it both complex and highly engaging.
- Imperial Deathmatch Mode: Players start in the emperor era with ample resources, enabling immediate large-scale confrontations.
Main Features:
Having been operational in China for four years, WOE has evolved through numerous updates to its current version, 1.8.n. Key features include:
- Player vs. CPU battles.
- Networked multiplayer gameplay.
- Spectator mode for observing matches.
- Replay functionality to review past games.
- Map creation tools for custom scenarios.
- Legion system for organized team play.
- Friend lists for social connectivity.
