Avowed 1.4 Patch: Arachnophobia Mode, 2025 Roadmap

Obsidian Entertainment has revealed its 2025 content plan for Avowed alongside details about the Version 1.4 update through an official post on their website.
The fantasy RPG's latest patch introduces notable improvements including an Arachnophobia Mode that transforms spiders into harmless-looking blobs and enhanced map navigation features. However, the 2025 roadmap showcases the game's most exciting future developments.

Obsidian has scheduled three major updates for Avowed throughout 2025. The first arrives with Version 1.4, bringing comprehensive enhancements like Xbox mouse/keyboard support, increased resources, gear rebalancing, and new camp features. For undecided players, the summer update will introduce cooking/crafting expansions, additional NPC interactions, fresh equipment, and custom map markers.
The final 2025 update planned for fall introduces highly anticipated features including New Game Plus and Photo Mode. This will be Obsidian's most substantial update yet, also delivering a new weapon category, character customization options, appearance modification, and more preset choices. The team has also addressed international player concerns.
"We recognize our players in Korea, Japan, and French-speaking regions," Obsidian stated. "Understanding the importance of native language support, we're actively developing Korean and Japanese localizations while refining French translations. These updates will release as soon as they meet our quality standards - we appreciate your patience during this process."
Avowed released on February 18, 2025 across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass. Obsidian teased future plans, noting they're "excited to share what's coming next." The complete Version 1.4 patch notes are available below, or visit this link to learn about a secret (and important) side mission.
Note: Potential story spoilers appear in bold.
