Zenless Zone Zero Tier List: December 24, 2024 Update

HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) boasts a diverse cast of characters, each with unique abilities and synergy potential. This tier list ranks all available Agents in ZZZ version 1.1, reflecting the current meta. Note that tier lists are dynamic and subject to change with new content. For example, while Grace was initially a top performer, the introduction of numerous other powerful Anomaly units has diminished her overall effectiveness.

S-Tier

S-Tier Agents S-Tier Agents consistently excel in their roles and synergize effectively with others.

  • Miyabi: Miyabi's swift Frost attacks and substantial damage output make her a top contender. While requiring strategic deployment, mastering her abilities allows for devastating battlefield dominance.

Miyabi

  • Jane Doe: A superior alternative to Piper, Jane Doe's high Crit Assault Anomaly inflicts significantly greater damage. Despite the inherent slower pace of Anomaly units compared to pure DPS, her potent Assault capabilities earn her an S-rank alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.

Jane Doe

  • Yanagi: Yanagi specializes in triggering Disorder, activating its effects without needing to apply Shock alongside other Anomalies. Her effectiveness hinges on pre-existing enemy Anomaly effects, making her an ideal partner for Miyabi.

Yanagi

  • Zhu Yuan: An exceptional DPS, Zhu Yuan's rapid Shotshell attacks are highly effective. She pairs well with various Stun and Support characters, but her optimal synergy is currently with Qingyi (for rapid stunning) and Nicole (for Ether damage boosts and DEF reduction).

Zhu Yuan

  • Caesar: Caesar redefines the Defensive Agent role. Beyond exceptional protection, she provides significant buffs and debuffs, scaling with Impact for easy stunning and crowd control.

Caesar

  • Qingyi: A versatile Stunner, Qingyi fits seamlessly into teams with Attack Agents. Her fluid movements and rapid Daze buildup, combined with a substantial DMG multiplier against stunned enemies, surpass Lycaon and Koleda in most situations (except in Ellen teams, where Lycaon's Ice synergy proves superior).

Qingyi

  • Lighter: Lighter's Stun abilities and notable buffs make him particularly effective with Fire and Ice characters, placing him high in the rankings due to the strength of units within those elements.

Lighter

  • Lycaon: Lycaon's Ice-based Stun capabilities, particularly his charged attacks, are enhanced by his ability to reduce enemy Ice resistance and boost ally Daze DMG. This makes him essential for any Ice team.

Lycaon

  • Ellen: Ellen's Ice-elemental attacks synergize exceptionally well with Lycaon and Soukaku. This synergy significantly amplifies her damage output, especially with her EX Special Attacks and Ultimates.

Ellen

  • Harumasa: A free-to-obtain S-rank Electric-Attack character, Harumasa requires specific setup to unleash his full potential.

Harumasa

  • Soukaku: Soukaku's support role focuses on buffing Ice units like Ellen and Lycaon, providing additional Ice buffs that significantly enhance their effectiveness.

Soukaku

  • Rina: Rina offers a balance of damage and support, providing PEN (defense ignore) buffs to allies. Her high damage output is linked to PEN sharing, making PEN Ratio a priority in her build. Her Shock Anomaly generation and buffs also benefit Electric characters.

A-Tier

A-Tier Agents A-Tier Agents are strong in specific team compositions but generally perform well in their roles.

  • Nicole: Nicole's Ether Support abilities, including enemy pulling and Ether DMG/DEF shredding, are valuable for AoE units like Nekomata, although her benefits are less pronounced for non-Ether DPS.

Nicole

  • Seth: Seth provides solid shielding and support, but not at the level of top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar. His niche focus on Anomaly DPS contrasts with the broader ATK buff benefits for Anomaly teams.

Seth

  • Lucy: Lucy offers off-field DMG and a substantial ATK% buff, further enhanced by synergy with other characters.

Lucy

  • Piper: While primarily reliant on her EX Special Attack, Piper's Assault Anomaly generation and damage potential remain highly effective, especially when paired with other Anomaly units to consistently trigger Disorder.

Piper

  • Grace: Grace's ability to rapidly Shock enemies and trigger continuous DMG remains relevant, particularly in Anomaly-focused teams. However, the influx of new Anomaly Agents has lowered her overall ranking.

Grace

  • Koleda: Koleda's reliable Fire/Stun capabilities and synergy with Ben make her a solid addition to many teams.

Koleda

  • Anby: Anby's reliable Stun capabilities are offset by her susceptibility to interruption, placing her below other top Stun Agents.

Anby

  • Soldier 11: Soldier 11's straightforward high-damage output is effective but lacks the complexity and synergy of other top DPS units.

Soldier 11

B-Tier

B-Tier Agents B-Tier Agents have some utility but are outperformed by others in their roles.

  • Ben: Ben's defensive capabilities and parry mechanics are fun but lack significant team-wide benefits, and his slow speed hinders his overall effectiveness.

Ben

  • Nekomata: Nekomata's AoE damage potential is hampered by a lack of supportive characters within her element and faction in the current meta.

Nekomata

C-Tier

C-Tier Agents C-Tier Agents currently offer limited value.

  • Corin: Corin's damage output is conditional and outperformed by other Physical Attack units.

Corin

  • Billy: Billy's damage output is insufficient compared to other DPS options.

Billy

  • Anton: Anton's Shock DMG generation is hampered by low DPS and single-target focus.
