Bandai Namco partners with Rebel Wolves for upcoming dark fantasy RPG, Dawnwalker.
Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco Team Up for "Dawnwalker"
The Polish studio Rebel Wolves, founded by key figures from The Witcher 3, has announced a publishing deal with Bandai Namco Entertainment. This partnership makes Bandai Namco the global publisher for Rebel Wolves' debut title, Dawnwalker, a AAA action RPG launching in 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox.
Further details on Dawnwalker are promised in the coming months.
Dawnwalker, set in a medieval European dark fantasy world, is aimed at mature audiences and boasts a strong narrative focus. Rebel Wolves, established in 2022, aims to elevate the RPG genre through its story-driven approach.
Tomasz Tinc, Rebel Wolves' chief publishing officer, highlighted the synergy between the two companies: "Rebel Wolves is a new studio built on experience and fresh energy. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, with its RPG expertise and commitment to new IPs, is the ideal partner."
Alberto Gonzalez Lorca, Bandai Namco's VP of business development, echoed this sentiment, calling Dawnwalker a valuable addition to their portfolio and emphasizing its contribution to their Western market strategy.
Leading the creative direction is Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, a CD Projekt Red veteran and lead quest designer on The Witcher 3. Co-founder and narrative director Jakub Szamalek, also a CDPR veteran, confirms Dawnwalker as a new franchise with a scope comparable to The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion, promising a non-linear narrative.
Tomaszkiewicz emphasizes the game's replayability and player choice: "We aim for an experience offering diverse choices and experimental replayability."
