New Weapons Unveiled in Hyper Light Breaker

Author : Sophia Update : Feb 19,2025

Hyper Light Breaker boasts a diverse arsenal, and a strong weapon is crucial for any successful build. While you begin with basic equipment, the game offers opportunities to discover weapons better suited to your preferred playstyle. Blending roguelike and extraction game elements, Hyper Light Breaker presents a unique approach to gear acquisition. Here's how to obtain new weapons:

Acquiring New Weapons in Hyper Light Breaker

Exploration is key. New gear, including weapons, is discovered by exploring Overgrowths. Focus on sword (Blades) or pistol (Rails) icons on the map for targeted weapon hunts.

Blades are melee weapons with distinct movesets and abilities, while Rails are ranged weapons, each possessing unique functionalities. Both weapon types have varying rarities, with gold being the most powerful. Rarity directly correlates with weapon stats, as is typical in loot-driven games.

To save weapons for later use, press the Cache button instead of Equip within the Overgrowth. These cached weapons can then be equipped before embarking on subsequent runs by adjusting your loadout.

Obtaining New Starting Weapons

Beyond finding weapons during runs, you can purchase new starting weapons from merchants at the Cursed Outpost. Initially, only the Blades merchant is accessible. To unlock the Rails merchant, gather sufficient materials to repair their shop.

Merchants have limited stock, but their inventories refresh periodically. If you don't find what you're looking for immediately, check back later.

Weapon Upgrades

Weapon upgrades are available at the Outpost merchants, but require unlocking the upgrade feature by increasing your merchant affinity. This is achieved by collecting Golden Rations, a rare resource found through exploration or cycle resets. Use Golden Rations judiciously, as they are scarce.

Remember, equipped weapons lose durability (represented by a bar under their icons) upon death. Repeated deaths will eventually break your weapons.
