"Tribe Nine Ends EOS Support Shortly After Global Launch"

Akatsuki Games has made a surprising announcement regarding the end of service (EOS) for their latest game, Tribe Nine. Launched just a few months ago in February on Android, iOS, and PC via Steam, the decision to shut down the game has left many fans in disbelief. Let's delve into the details and reasons behind this unexpected move.

When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?

Tribe Nine is set to officially close its doors on November 27th, 2025. Alongside this disheartening news, Akatsuki Games has also confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not see the light of day, despite the game teasing significant developments in its narrative. This decision comes as a huge disappointment, especially as the game was just starting to build anticipation for what was to come.

As of May 15th, all plans for new updates, features, bug fixes, and content releases have been canceled. Any adjustments or new features previously announced in-game are now off the table. Additionally, two anticipated characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were set to join the game's roster, will no longer be added.

In terms of refunds, players who spent on Paid Enigma Entities for items like Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio will receive refunds after the Revenio contract expires. Furthermore, the purchase of Enigma Entities and Daily Passes has been disabled across both the app and the web store. However, players can continue to use their existing Enigma Entities until the official shutdown of Tribe Nine.

Why Did It Fail, So Soon?

Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG that boasts a unique style and rich worldbuilding. Despite its quality, the game struggled from the start. The slow release schedule, featuring only one story chapter and one event over three months, failed to keep players engaged. Additionally, the game's monetization model did not encourage spending, as players could build a strong team with just one pull and did not require duplicate characters (dupes) to progress, which, while beneficial for players, did not support the game's financial sustainability.

The decision to implement a gacha system seems to have been a risky move that ultimately did not pay off for Tribe Nine. Despite its challenges, the game remains available to play until November 27th, 2025. If you haven't tried it yet, you can still check it out on the Google Play Store.
