Stellar Blade Shift Up Slips Up with DLC Update
Stellar Blade's latest update, 1.009, introduces a highly anticipated Photo Mode and NieR: Automata crossover DLC, but unfortunately, also brought some critical bugs. Let's explore the issues and the developer's response.
Game-Breaking Bugs and the Hotfix
The update caused several game-breaking problems. Players reported being softlocked during a main quest in an earlier dungeon, unable to progress. Others experienced crashes while using the Photo Mode's selfie function, and some new cosmetic items failed to render correctly on the character Eve.
Developer Shift Up is actively working on a hotfix patch to address these issues. They advise players to avoid forcing quest progression and wait for the patch to prevent permanent softlocks.
NieR: Automata DLC and Enhanced Photo Mode
Update 1.009 includes the exciting NieR: Automata collaboration DLC. Inspired by the NieR series, players can find the character Emil in the game world to acquire 11 exclusive collaboration items. This collaboration reflects the mutual respect and creative synergy between the directors of both games.
The highly requested Photo Mode is finally here, allowing players to capture stunning images of Eve and her companions. New photo challenges further enhance this feature. The update also adds four new outfits for Eve, a new accessory altering Tachy Mode's appearance (unlocked after completing a specific ending), and a "No Ponytail" option for increased customization. Further improvements include lip-sync support for six additional languages, enhanced projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functions for the instant death skill, and various minor bug fixes.
