"Polytopia Introduces Weekly Challenges Mode"

The Battle of Polytopia has just rolled out an exciting new feature with the introduction of Weekly Challenges, offering a fresh twist to the beloved 4X strategy game. This update is poised to bring a whole new level of competition and engagement to players. Let's dive into what this means for your gameplay experience.

It Was Random Before

Previously, The Battle of Polytopia was known for its high degree of randomness, with varied enemies, resources, and maps keeping each game session unpredictable. However, the new free update introduces a more structured approach to competition.

Starting now, every week, all players are set with the same map, tribe, and identical gameplay conditions. The challenge? You have 20 turns to achieve the highest possible score. You're allowed one attempt per day, capping at seven tries per week. This setup not only levels the playing field but also adds a thrilling competitive edge.

An exciting aspect of the Weekly Challenges is that you can play as tribes you might not yet own. With a total of 16 tribes in the game—four available in the base game and twelve more that can be purchased for $1-4 each—the Weekly Challenges allow everyone to compete using the same tribe, regardless of ownership.

Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?

Absolutely, and here's why. Alongside the Weekly Challenges, a new League system has been introduced. Every player begins in the Entry League and can move up or down the ranks based on their performance. Each week, the top third of players advance, the bottom third are relegated, and those in the middle maintain their position.

The difficulty level scales with your progression. Starting with Easy AI in the Entry League, you'll face increasingly challenging Crazy difficulty bots as you ascend to the Gold League. Missing a week won’t demote you, but your ranking will adjust according to the performance of other players.
