Just Like A Phoenix! Supercell Announces Project R.I.S.E. From The Ashes Of Clash Heroes
Finnish mobile game giant Supercell has made a surprising announcement: after shutting down its RPG, Clash Heroes, they're bringing it back—but with a significant twist. Enter Project R.I.S.E., a social action RPG roguelite set within the familiar Clash universe.
Supercell's announcement video confirmed the demise of Clash Heroes, but revealed Project R.I.S.E. as its successor. Game lead Julien Le Cadre stated directly, "Clash Heroes is dead. That’s the bad news," before adding, "The good news is that Project R.I.S.E. is still a Clash game, and the better news is that it’s now a multiplayer-focused action RPG."
While sharing DNA with Clash Heroes, Project R.I.S.E. is a completely rebuilt game. It's a social action RPG roguelite where players team up in three-person squads to ascend a mysterious Tower. Each session explores a different floor, with the ultimate goal of reaching the highest level possible. Unlike its predecessor's PvE focus, Project R.I.S.E. emphasizes cooperative gameplay and diverse character selection.
Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Interested players can register on the official website for a chance to participate.
