Minecraft Live 2025 Unveils Vibrant Visuals and Flying Happy Ghast

Author : Adam Update : May 21,2025

Minecraft Live 2025 has wrapped up, and Mojang has unveiled a slew of exciting updates and new content for the iconic game. Let's dive into what's coming to Minecraft this year.

The first game drop, dubbed "Spring to Life," is set to launch on March 25. This update will breathe new life into the Overworld, making biomes feel more immersive and alive. Players can look forward to new variants of cows, pigs, and chickens, along with fresh ambient features and sounds such as the glittering firefly bush, falling leaves, and whispers of sand. These additions promise to enhance the exploration experience in the game.

The second game drop, currently unnamed, introduces a fascinating new block called the Dried Ghast. This block, a bit smaller than a regular block and adorned with cute tentacles and a grumpy face, can be rehydrated to transform into a Ghastling—a baby ghast. With a bit of care, the Ghastling can grow into a Happy Ghast, a new mob variant. Players can craft a Ghast harness to ride the Happy Ghast, allowing up to four players to soar through the skies together. The addition of the Locator Bar at the bottom of the screen will help you find your friends while flying, making this feature particularly useful for Survival Mode builders who can position themselves anywhere in the sky.

Mojang also announced a significant visual upgrade for Minecraft called 'Vibrant Visuals.' This update aims to enhance the game's aesthetics without affecting gameplay, marking the first step in a broader vision to transform how players experience Minecraft. In addition to these updates, Mojang shared an exclusive clip from the upcoming "A Minecraft Movie" and announced a movie-themed in-game live event. The event, taking place in Midport Village from March 25 to April 7, invites players to join Steve and his companions from the movie in a multiplayer experience. Participants will defend the village from a piglin attack through three mini-games, with the chance to earn the coveted Yearn cape by completing all challenges.

During our visit to Mojang's offices in Sweden, we learned more about the developer's stance on future projects. Mojang has no plans to create a Minecraft 2, make the game free-to-play, or use generative AI for development, ensuring that the core essence of Minecraft remains intact.
