Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset

A recent Marvel Rivals update sparked confusion regarding a potential rank reset for Season 1. While rank resets are common in live-service games at the start of each season, NetEase Games initially planned a mid-season reset on February 21, 2025, coinciding with the release of The Thing and Human Torch.

However, due to significant negative player feedback, NetEase reversed course. The developer announced that there will be no rank reset at the mid-season point. Players will retain their current ranks and scores. To earn new rewards, including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor, players only need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the end of the season.

This decision showcases NetEase's responsiveness to player concerns and provides high-ranking players with an extended period to compete at the top level.

Season 1 Mid-Season Update Content:

Beyond the cancellation of the rank reset, the mid-season update introduces The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters. Specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) haven't been detailed yet.
