"Mastering the Haunted Mirror: Phasmophobia Guide"

Author : Evelyn Update : May 04,2025

If you're on a mission to track down and conquer the most notorious ghosts in *Phasmophobia*, you'll often find yourself relying on special Cursed Possessions that carry a certain level of risk but promise great rewards. One such item, the Haunted Mirror, is particularly useful, but it's important to understand its mechanics before diving in.

How to Use Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror is widely regarded as one of the safest Cursed Objects you can use in *Phasmophobia*, offering significant benefits with minimal risk. Its function has remained consistent through various game updates, making it a highly recommended tool during investigations.

When you use the Haunted Mirror, it reveals the ghost's current favorite room or area on the map by providing a panoramic view of the room itself. If you're well-versed in the map's layout, this feature can help you locate the ghost much quicker, allowing you to set up your equipment before the situation escalates.

You can usually find the Haunted Mirror hanging on a wall, such as at 6 Tanglewood Drive, or lying on the floor in its designated spot. While Cursed Objects spawn in the same location on a map, the type of object that appears is randomized.

To utilize the Haunted Mirror, simply pick it up and use the appropriate button (whether you're using a mouse or controller) to interact with it and hold it up. The reflection will show you a view of the ghost’s current favorite room. Keep in mind, on Professional difficulty or higher, the ghost may move to a different area after some time.

However, be cautious not to gaze into the Haunted Mirror for too long, as it drains your sanity. If you hold it up until the mirror shatters, a Cursed Hunt will initiate at your location. Therefore, it's best to use it when your sanity is high and to quickly interpret the reflection.

What are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia?

Cursed Possessions, commonly referred to as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in *Phasmophobia* that appear randomly on any map, depending on the difficulty settings or if you're tackling Challenge Mode.

Unlike standard equipment, which helps locate the ghost and gather evidence with little risk, Cursed Objects serve as shortcuts to manipulate the ghost but come with a higher level of danger. The safety of using these objects varies based on their abilities, and it's up to you and your team to decide whether to use them. There's no penalty for avoiding them, and only one Cursed Possession will appear per contract, unless you modify the settings in Custom Mode.

The game features a total of seven different Cursed Objects, including:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
