Author : Emily Update : Mar 28,2025

If you're a fan of *League of Legends*, you'll be excited to know that a new minigame, Demon's Hand, has been added to the client and will be available until the end of April. If you've played *Balatro*, you'll find the gameplay mechanics of Demon's Hand quite familiar.

League of Legends Demon’s Hand Set-Up and Getting Started

To dive into Demon's Hand, ensure your *League* client is updated to the latest version. Once updated, click the Play button, navigate to the game type menu, and select Demon's Hand. This will introduce you to the story mode and kickstart your first round of the card game.

Your hand is displayed as the bottom row of cards. In the bottom right corner, you'll find your health, coins, and percent crit chance. Above this, there's the Sigil box where you can have up to six active Sigils, though you'll start with none. Remember, your health won't be restored after each battle; instead, visit tent locations on the map to restore a percentage of your health.

The enemy card is shown at the top, with its health in the bottom right and damage in the bottom left. To the left of the enemy card, an attack coin indicates how many hands you can play before the enemy attacks. On the left edge of the screen, a book lists all possible hands you can play as an attack and their base damage in a standard round.

To inflict damage, you'll play poker hands, which are renamed in Demon's Hand but follow the same principles. The ultimate hand to aim for is The Demon's Hand, a royal flush. Here's a breakdown of the hands you can play and their poker equivalents:

  • Solo = High Card (10 Base Damage)
  • Dyad = Pair (20 Base Damage)
  • Dyad Set = Two Pair (40 Base Damage)
  • Triad = Three of a Kind (80 Base Damage)
  • Tetrad = Four of a Kind (100 Base Damage)
  • March = Straight (125 Base Damage)
  • Horde = Flush (175 Base Damage)
  • Grand Warhost = Full House (400 Base Damage)
  • Marching Horde = Straight Flush (600 Base Damage)
  • The Demon’s Hand = Royal Flush (2000 Base Damage)

In addition to the base damage, the numerical value of each card adds to the total damage. If an enemy has a special ability that nullifies a specific suit, those cards will be crossed out and won't contribute their numerical value to the base damage, though you can still play them.

Spice Up Your Attacks with Sigils

Sigils add another layer to your strategy. You purchase them during store phases, indicated by coins on the map. You earn coins by defeating enemies, which you can then spend on Sigils. Each Sigil offers a unique ability, visible when you hover over them in the store or during a round. Some Sigils enhance specific hands, like boosting Dyad damage, while others might grant additional turns before enemy attacks or reduce the damage you receive.

That's the rundown on how to play the Demon's Hand card game in *League of Legends*. If this minigame doesn't catch your interest, keep an eye out for the upcoming April Fools skins to see what's in store for Summoner's Rift.
