Lost Soul Aside Polishing on PS5, PC Delayed

Ultizero Games, the developer of Lost Soul Aside, has announced a three-month delay, moving the release from May 30 to August 29, 2025.

After nearly a decade in development, the single-player action game for PC and PlayStation 5 was finally set to launch next month. However, the studio stated that the delay until late August is intended to provide additional polishing time.

"We deeply appreciate the overwhelming support from players worldwide since announcing Lost Soul Aside," said Ultizero Games.

"We are fully dedicated to delivering a top-tier gaming experience. To meet the high standards we’ve set for ourselves, we are taking extra time to refine the game. The new global release date is August 29, 2025. We sincerely thank our fans for their patience and excitement."

What began as a solo passion project by developer Yang Bing has evolved into a major Sony-published title through the China Hero Project initiative. Bing is now the founder and CEO of Shanghai-based Ultizero Games.

IGN recently spoke with Yang Bing about the game’s lengthy road to release. Years of development have transformed Lost Soul Aside from one creator’s vision into a featured title in Sony’s State of Play showcase. The excitement has been building ever since its viral debut trailer in 2016, with many describing it as an exhilarating blend of Final Fantasy’s character design and Devil May Cry’s combat system.

Players control Kesar, who wields a shape-shifting weapon that alters combat styles on the fly. He is accompanied by Arena, a dragon-like companion who summons abilities to aid in battle.

Inspired by classic action games, Lost Soul Aside focuses on aerial evasion, precise timing, combo mechanics, and counter-attacks, alongside epic boss battles. The game combines sci-fi themes with diverse modern aesthetics, taking players across multiple dimensions in an expansive campaign. While the story’s direction remains mysterious based on trailers, Bing describes Kesar’s adventure as a journey of "redemption and discovery."
