Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Adds Steam Workshop, Barber Shops

Author : Aria Update : May 17,2025

Warhorse Studios has just rolled out a major free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II - version 1.2. This update brings two exciting new features: native mod integration through Steam Workshop and a fresh barber shop system.

The integration of Steam Workshop into the game makes it easier than ever to download and install mods directly within Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, bypassing the need for external platforms. However, this feature's success hinges on mod creators uploading their content to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection is limited but includes intriguing mods such as:

  • Free Saving: This mod replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item whenever it's used or lost, granting players unlimited saves.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a unique, horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
  • Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, opening up access to restricted story locations.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra with a distinctive visual effect.

Although the initial mod selection on Steam Workshop is modest, the vibrant modding community, which has already created over a thousand mods on Nexus Mods, is anticipated to grow swiftly on both platforms. While Steam Workshop may not match Nexus Mods in scale, it's expected that popular mods will soon make their way there.

Additionally, players can now enhance their character's appearance by visiting NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg. These barber shops offer a variety of hairstyles and beard designs, and a visit to the barber will temporarily boost the protagonist's Charisma stat, adding a new layer of customization and strategy to the gameplay.

Update 1.2 extends well beyond these key features, with Warhorse Studios detailing over a thousand fixes and improvements in the extensive changelog available on the game's official website. These updates touch nearly every aspect of the game, including balancing adjustments, refined animations, and enhanced NPC behavior. The crime system, for example, has been fine-tuned for more accurate gameplay.

Other significant changes include:

  • Revised daily schedules for NPCs to make their routines more realistic.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and horse trading systems.
  • Improved character visuals and overall performance, particularly in Kuttenberg, the largest city in the game, and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios will provide a deeper dive into these updates during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio remains committed to the game's development, with three paid DLC expansions planned for release in spring, summer, and winter.

With the integration of Steam Workshop, new cosmetic options, and numerous gameplay enhancements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to offer players an increasingly immersive and engaging medieval experience.
