Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: Dual Outfit Effects Guide
Quick Links
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered enhances the thrilling action gameplay while also offering extensive weapon and outfit customization. Whether you're sneaking past machines or engaging in melee and ranged combat, you can tailor your outfit to suit your playstyle.
There are moments when you might wish to harness the benefits of multiple outfits simultaneously. Fortunately, this is possible in the remastered version, though with certain limitations. Let's explore how you can achieve this.
Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required
To enjoy the effects of two outfits, you'll need the remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn. A recent patch introduced the transmog feature, enabling you to maintain the stats and effects of one outfit while sporting the appearance of another. Say goodbye to compromising on style for the sake of stats.
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method
To leverage the effects of two outfits, keep in mind that this technique isn't universally applicable. While you can choose any outfit for your base, the second outfit must be one of the following:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (available only in New Game Plus)
These outfits are exclusive to the Frozen Wilds DLC area, so you'll need to access this region. The good news is you don't have to complete the base game first.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
Start by reaching the expansion area after defeating the new machine. If it's challenging, consider reducing the difficulty or upgrading your gear. Once there, find a Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue Merchant icon) and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
Resources | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear as this mission can be demanding, or switch to Story mode for an easier completion. The Adept version is attainable in New Game Plus using the same process.
Once you've acquired the second outfit, you're ready to proceed. You don't need to engage further with the Frozen Wilds content unless you wish to.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits
Begin by equipping your preferred outfit, focusing on the stats you need. Remember, you can enhance these stats with Weaves. After selecting your primary outfit, use the transmog feature to adopt the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. While these outfits don't add to your stats, they provide automatic healing after sustaining damage for a period.
This approach lets you retain your chosen outfit's stats while benefiting from the auto-healing perk of the Banuk Werak outfits. If you're using the Shield Weaver as your base outfit, you're nearly invincible. The rare times you do take damage, the Banuk Werak outfits' healing perk will quickly restore your health.
The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits trigger their healing perk faster than the Banuk Werak Runner, so prioritize these if available.
