Each Abductor in Freedom Wars Remastered boasts a visible health bar on its torso. Players utilize various weapons and combat items to deplete this health, ultimately securing victory. The game features diverse damage types, each with unique mechanics. While light melee weapons often sever specific body parts, Impact Damage plays a similar, crucial role in combat strategy.

Mastering Impact Damage significantly enhances Abductor takedowns. This guide explains Impact Damage's function and its effective application in Freedom Wars Remastered.

What Does Impact Damage Do In Freedom Wars Remastered?

Impact Damage is primarily found on Heavy Melee weapons and some Ranged Weapons. While you'll see a numerical value alongside the Impact Damage percentage, this doesn't directly increase your overall damage output. Instead, it represents non-elemental damage that boosts the force of your standard attacks, accelerating the Abductor's stagger rate. A full stagger meter results in the Abductor staggering, falling, or exhibiting unique reactions, creating prime opportunities to inflict substantial damage before recovery.

Unlike the readily visible health bar, the stagger meter is hidden. Staggering can occur at any point once the rate reaches a threshold. This presents both advantages and disadvantages. Offline play allows for strategic charging and powerful follow-up attacks. However, in online play, staggering an Abductor might hinder teammates' attacks. Some Abductors, like Ramosa, react to staggering by moving backward, potentially complicating precise attacks or follow-up hits.

How To Increase Stagger Damage In Freedom Wars Remastered

Increasing Stagger Damage requires unlocking the Weapon Development Facility. This facility enables weapon crafting and customization, offering various enhancement options. Within the facility, utilize the Manufacture Modules feature to create modules using gathered resources. The Stagger Damage Up Module requires Glassy Carbon, a common field resource in many Basic Operations. After acquiring the necessary materials, you can also use Synthesise Modules to combine identical modules and upgrade their effectiveness. Once crafted, attach the module to your weapon to boost its Impact Damage and improve your ability to stagger Abductors.

Because Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements maximizes staggering efficiency. This makes modules like Stagger Damage Up invaluable for users of heavy melee weapons or ranged weapons naturally adept at building stagger.
