Get Your Pet
First things first, as soon as you launch *Diablo 4* Season 7, head to the nearest town with a Wardrobe. Interact with it to acquire your pet. Although pets don't participate in battles, they're incredibly useful for automatically collecting all your gold and materials. This saves you precious time, allowing you to focus solely on combat and loot.
Grab Your Mercenaries
If you own the *Vessel of Hatred* expansion, make your way to the Den to recruit a Mercenary. Solo players can have up to two Mercenaries, which significantly eases leveling and combat. Plus, building Rapport with them unlocks additional rewards, enhancing your gameplay experience.
Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up
Start on Normal difficulty and follow the new seasonal questline, marked by green leaf icons on your map. This questline introduces you to Season 7's mechanics, including Headhunt zones, Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, and new Witch powers. While the questline is relatively short, it includes puzzles and requires farming Favors in Headhunt zones. This approach is also the fastest way to reach level 60. Keep tackling Headhunt zone bosses, collect and turn in Favors, and level up your Witch powers simultaneously.
Unlock Your Class Power
A handy quality-of-life feature is that you no longer need to complete class-specific priority quests if you've already done so on a previous character. However, you must first log in with that character on the Eternal realm. For example, if you're creating a new Rogue for Season 7, log in with an existing Rogue that has completed the priority quests. Then, when you log in with your Season 7 Rogue, your class power will automatically unlock upon reaching the required level.
Headhunt Zones
While exploring Headhunt zones, make sure to complete the Whispers. Always aim for the smallest, most compact zones for higher enemy density, enabling quicker mob farming and Whisper completion. Prioritize these two Whisper quests: Fugitive and Shepherd. Fugitive involves recovering a head or destroying a husk, activated by defeating Elites and interacting with roots. Shepherd is straightforward, requiring you to escort animals. Once you accumulate 10 Grim Favors, exchange them at the Tree of Whispers for a cache. Alternatively, turn in your Favors to the Raven of the Tree found in every Headhunt zone.
Witchcraft Powers
Visit the Tree of Whispers to interact with the Altars of Witchcraft, where you can purchase and upgrade Witchcraft powers using Restless Rot, earned by defeating new Rot enemies. While these powers are affordable to buy, upgrading them is costly. Prioritize those that offer direct damage boosts for significant passive damage. Some Witch powers are exclusive to Forgotten Altars, which you might find in regular dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, the Pits, and Rootholds at Torment 1 difficulty. Using a Draught of Whispers increases your chances of encountering a Forgotten Altar.
Rootholds
Rootholds are a new dungeon type introduced in Season 7, accessible by consuming a Whispering Wood, obtained through Whispers and Silent Chests. Similar to a rogue-lite mode, Rootholds allow you to activate negative modifiers that enhance loot quality. As you progress, open Exposed Roots for loot, with modifiers affecting the number and quality of roots found. Save your Roothold keys for Torment 1, as they're the best source of Ancestral loot this Season.
Occult Gems
For late-game progression, craft Occult Gems by speaking with Gelena at the Tree of Whispers. These gems, which slot into your jewelry, outperform regular gems but are expensive to create, requiring Restless Rot and Heads. Heads drop from Roothold bosses and Fugitives in Headhunt zones, and using a Draught of Whispers boosts your chances of obtaining them from bosses.
Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons
Don't forget to include Pits and Nightmare Dungeons in your routine. Nightmare Dungeons are crucial for obtaining Glyphs, while Pits are essential for leveling them up. Additionally, farm Infernal Hordes for masterworking materials needed to power up your Uniques.
