"Cyberpunk 2077 Lunar DLC Details Leaked"
Fans of *Cyberpunk 2077* were thrilled to learn about an ambitious DLC that was once planned to take players to the Moon, but unfortunately, CD Projekt RED ultimately shelved the project. Thanks to the diligent work of blogger and dataminer SirMZK, we now have insight into what could have been through leaks and files extracted from the game’s code.
Within the game's files, SirMZK discovered references to lunar surface maps, detailed areas such as the Exterior Movie Set and Drug Lab, and even a model of a rover. The envisioned Moon location was set to be expansive, potentially covering a quarter of Night City's size, and designed as an open-world environment. This would have introduced a thrilling new dimension to the gameplay, taking players far from the familiar neon-lit streets of Night City.
One of the highlights of the proposed DLC was the Crystal Palace, an elite space station. Although it didn't make it into the final game, eagle-eyed players can spot the Crystal Palace in one of the game's endings when V gazes out of a spaceship window. Additionally, files uncovered a prototype for a zero-gravity bar connected to a cut quest called "201," which was linked to the Arasaka storyline.
While the Moon DLC remains a distant dream, fans hold out hope that some of these intriguing concepts might find their way into CD Projekt RED's upcoming project, *Orion*, which aims to further expand the *Cyberpunk* universe. However, the studio has not yet confirmed any plans to reuse these ideas.
Though the Moon DLC is no longer in development, the details uncovered offer a captivating glimpse into what could have been—a bold venture for *Cyberpunk 2077* into the realms of space exploration, seamlessly blending with the game's iconic cyberpunk atmosphere.
