CS2 incoming: Halo Infinite Set to Launch S&D Extraction Mode with Deep Economic Mechanics
Halo Infinite, while perhaps not always in the spotlight, continues to receive engaging content updates. A recent addition is S&D Extraction, a new competitive game mode designed to deliver a strategic and refreshing experience.
Inspired by Counter-Strike's classic gameplay, S&D Extraction puts a unique Halo twist on the formula. Two teams of four players face off—attackers aiming to plant a device at a designated location, and defenders striving to prevent them. Teams switch roles after each round, with the first to six round wins claiming victory.
The mode incorporates a robust economic system. Players earn in-game currency by completing objectives, using this currency to purchase equipment at the start of each round. Prices fluctuate based on player performance, ensuring a dynamic experience, and all gear is reset at the end of each round.
Item costs reflect their power and effectiveness. Expect cheaper options early in the match, escalating prices mid-game, and potentially even more expensive gear available later if players strategically save their earnings. Respawning after elimination will also be a purchasable option.
Launching in 2025, S&D Extraction promises a dynamic and engaging competitive experience for Halo Infinite players, offering a compelling blend of familiar and innovative gameplay.
