How to Complete All Arata Stages in GHOUL://RE

After numerous trials, we've cracked the code to complete all three Arata stages in GHOUL://RE. These stages aren't about complex skills or extensive exploration, but they do demand considerable Reputation grinding. And by considerable, we mean a substantial amount!

Arata Stage 1 in GHOUL://RE

To kick off, you need to amass 25,000 Reputation points and reach the highest rank of Special Investigator within the C.C.G. organization. Head to the Commission of Counter Ghoul (C.C.G. center) and locate Damiro D. Mado on the second floor, identifiable by his headphones. He'll assign you the Arata Stage 1 quest, requiring you to gather 10 one-eyed fragments and 10 Kokuja fragments.

The quickest method to obtain these fragments is by defeating bosses, specifically Eto and Tatara, shown below, and then crafting them at the designated table. To check your Reputation, speak with Saiyo Natsuki, the NPC in a black suit and tie. Once you've collected all 20 fragments, transform them into five one-eyed Kokuja fragments at the crafting station. Return to Damiro, who will then direct you to speak with "him". This caused confusion within the GHOUL://RE community, as "he" was elusive. It turns out "he" is Black Reaper of Doom And Despair, hiding in plain sight.

Arata Stage 2 in GHOUL://RE

For Arata stages 2 and 3, you must switch to permadeath mode to acquire the legendary armor. It's advisable to have a reliable team, as solo missions can be frustrating.

Once you've earned 100,000 Reputation points, take the elevator in the C.C.G. building to the Laboratory. There, you'll find Black Reaper of Doom And Despair, the man with the scalpel in a black suit by the door.

Hand over five one-eyed Kokuja fragments and your 100,000 Reputation to complete Stage two and obtain Arata-Proto armor. There's been debate over the necessary reputation, with some suggesting 75,000 or between 90,000 and 100,000. From our experience, 100,000 Reputation points ensures success.

Remember, play the second and third Arata stages in GHOUL://RE on PD servers only. Failure to do so will result in repeated responses from the Black Reaper, preventing you from completing Arata Stage 2 or accessing Arata Stage 3.

Arata Stage 3 in GHOUL://RE

The final Arata Stage also involves "The Scalpel Guy", additional fragments, and a hefty amount of currency. Like the second stage, you must be in PD mode to proceed.

Once you've obtained a single one-eyed Kakuja fragment and saved 500,000 Yen, revisit Black Reaper of Doom And Despair in the C.C.G. building. After paying him, he will teleport you to face the Kishou Arima boss.

To defeat this boss, basic gaming skills are essential. Expect to jump, dodge, block, and deal significant damage from above. Kishou Arima is challenging but not invincible; with practice, even average players can triumph.

Be prepared for potential multiple deaths, and bring ample resources. Each subsequent attempt at the boss fight will cost another one-eyed Kakuja fragment and 500,000 Yen.

Upon defeating Kishou Arima, you'll unlock Stage 3 Arata-Proto armor. However, be cautious; while Arata armor provides exceptional buffs and protection, it severely impacts your body, as detailed below.

Arata is a formidable armor, but it drains your hunger rapidly while worn. You cannot eat while wearing Arata in any stage, so you must remove it to replenish your hunger.

Despite this, the armor's advantages are substantial. Primarily, you cannot be ragdolled while wearing Arata, a significant advantage in various scenarios.

Arata also enhances your equipment, making your character increasingly "tanky" and capable of withstanding and dealing substantial damage. If the armor depletes your hunger during combat, it will start consuming your health bar. Be cautious during boss fights, as you can remove the armor to heal if necessary.

Reputation Grinding

The most effective way to accumulate the required Reputation is by fighting bosses in PD mode. Despite the risk, each boss defeated in PD mode yields 1,500 Reputation, significantly more than the 500 earned outside PD. Killing Ghouls, however, only provides 100 Reputation points per kill, making them less ideal for grinding during Arata quests.
