Android-Bound Lovecraftian Adventure 'My Father Lied' Debuts in 2023
In today's saturated gaming market, finding a truly unique game can be a challenge. However, My Father Lied stands out with its compelling narrative and intriguing blend of mystery and Lovecraftian horror. This puzzle adventure game boasts a captivating story, making it a title worth investigating.
My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Journey
The game's creation story is fascinating. Developer Ahmed Alameen wasn't initially a game developer; in 2020, he was a writer and filmmaker. A collaborative game project with a college friend fell through, but the underlying story remained. Alameen, driven by his vision, independently learned 3D modeling and Unreal Engine to bring his concept to life. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.
The Game's Story: A Mesopotamian Mystery
My Father Lied plunges players into a mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths, filled with secrets, puzzles, and unexpected twists. Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: what happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, is far from straightforward.
The game masterfully blends ancient Mesopotamian lore with modern storytelling. The gameplay features simple point-and-click mechanics, beautiful 2D visuals, and immersive 360-degree images.
