Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Public Test Server Launches with Massive Update 7.0 Changes
The first public test server (PTS) for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is now live, giving PC players an early glimpse into the highly anticipated Update 7.0. According to a community post from Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive, the preliminary patch notes for this PTS version contain most of the features planned for Update 7.0. However, the final patch notes may differ as the team continues to refine and fix bugs.
Update 7.0 introduces a variety of exciting additions to the game. Players can dive into a new PvE mission called "Exfiltration," and utilize the new secondary weapon, the Inferno Pistol, available for the Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes. The update also brings prestige ranks to PvE and introduces private PvP lobbies, enhancing the endgame experience.
For those who love to customize, Update 7.0 offers new colors like Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue, along with options for Bulwark cloth and hands recoloring. PvP rewards have been boosted by 50%, and players can now enjoy new skins such as the Imperial Fists Champion for the Tactical class and the Space Wolves Champion for the Vanguard class.
Significant balance changes are also part of this update. All classes now have an expanded weapon choice in PvE, with the Assault class gaining the ability to use the Power Sword without mods. The patch notes detail numerous tweaks to various weapons, ensuring a more balanced gameplay experience. Notably, the Heavy Bolt Rifle's Artificer and Relic versions have been reworked, with adjustments to magazine capacity, ammo reserves, accuracy, and range.
A notable gameplay improvement in the Inferno Operation is the addition of a forced teleportation mechanic. If a player reaches the assembly area in the final stage, other players will be teleported there after a 1:30 notification and a 15-second delay, addressing previous issues with griefing that could block progress.

Weapon Perks Update

- **Heavy Bolt Rifle:** Increased duration effect for "Able Precision," replaced "Fast Regeneration 1" with "Head Hunter," and reworked "Fast Regeneration 2" into "Recoupment."
- **Bolt Rifle:** Similar adjustments to the Heavy Bolt Rifle, including "Able Precision," "Fast Regeneration 1" replaced with "Adamantine Grip," and "Fast Regeneration 2" reworked into "Recoupment."
- **Auto Bolt Rifle:** "Honed Precision" and "Fast Reload" perks adjusted, with "Fast Regeneration 1" replaced by "Elite Hunter."
- **Plasma Incinerator:** Duration effects increased for "Rapid Cooling" and "Rampage," with new perks like "Common Efficiency" and "Balanced Cooling."
Operations
- **Obelisk:** Added new voiceovers to clarify objectives in the final gameplay sequence.
- **Inferno:** Implemented a forced teleportation mechanism to address griefing issues.
Bug Fixes
- **Occulus Bolt Carbine:** Fixed incorrect spread values for the Master-Crafted - Alpha version.
- **Multi-Melta:** Corrected the rate-of-fire for different versions of the weapon.
- **Sniper Class:** Fixed incorrect stacking and typos in the "Renewal" and "Squad Renewal" perks.
- **Tactical Class:** Corrected the "Radiating Impact" perk bonus stack.
