There's no denying the excitement surrounding the release of the new Final Destination movie currently showing in theaters. Final Destination: Bloodlines marks the sixth installment of the beloved franchise and continues the tradition of featuring iconic actors, including the legendary Tony Todd. Known for his chilling performance as the original Candyman, Todd delivers a powerful, unscripted monologue in the film, which producer Craig Perry describes as "very bittersweet."

In a recent interview with Deadline, Perry discussed both the new film and his experiences producing the entire franchise, which began in 2000. He shared that everyone was aware of Todd's serious illness and understood that this role would likely be his last. "And it was pretty clear that this was going to be the last role he would play in a movie, and the fact that it was one of the Final Destination movies made it that much more poignant," Perry remarked.

PlayDirectors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein took a bold step during the filming of Todd’s scene, opting to let him speak directly from the heart rather than following the script. Perry explained, "Our directors, they made a very shrewd decision to take the last couple of lines that were scripted and said, 'Tony, just, just say what you would want to say to the fans. What would you like to impart to them in this moment?'" This approach resulted in an authentic and deeply emotional scene, as Todd spoke directly to the camera and to the fans who have supported him over the years. "It was a very magical moment on set. It was an impactful moment, and it’s one I’ll take with me until I go to the grave," Perry added.
