PUBG Mobile 4.1 Update Launches Frost Festival with Penguins
- Version 4.1 is packed, featuring the return of the Frost Festival
- Penguins arrive alongside PowNin, your personal AI companion
- Numerous themed events, challenges, and rewards are available
Winter arrives early in PUBG Mobile, bringing both horsepower and penguins. The Version 4.1 update launches today, headlined by a fresh Porsche collaboration now live, setting the stage for a season of speed, snow, and some welcome chaos on the battleground.
The main attraction is the Frost Festival, a full-scale winter event running until January 5th. It introduces Frosty Funland, a new themed mode that transforms Erangel, Livik, and Vikendi into snowy playgrounds engineered by the most unlikely crew – penguins.
These tuxedoed builders have left their melting homeland to construct Penguinville, complete with icy trails, party trials, and the debut of PowNin. This Ninja Penguin companion can heal, fight, and even snack on sardines mid-battle. You can command PowNin using voice or quick text – a feat of impressive AI or pure holiday magic.
The Frosty Funland trial adds some festive pressure, tasking squads with collecting and delivering party invites across the map before time runs out. Completing it unlocks exclusive achievements and a special celebration sequence – essentially, bragging rights with a festive bow.

Then, in mid-December, the Frost Festival Event kicks off in earnest, bringing themed decorations, musical vehicles, and a visit to Wintercrest Hall. Here, you can earn supplies and light fireworks to contribute to a global penguin charity drive. Once the community milestone is reached, PUBG Mobile will donate $100,000 to penguin conservation – a thoughtful seasonal gesture amidst the in-game explosions.
Meanwhile, Classic Mode receives a mechanical tune-up. Firearms now feature more realistic ballistic drop and sound adjustments, while Erangel’s new Boatyard and Loot Truck system refresh the mid-match flow. The PMGC-themed zones also return, offering photo opportunities and supply packs to keep the atmosphere both festive and competitive.
PUBG Mobile’s Version 4.1 update is substantial and is sure to keep players engaged throughout the upcoming holiday season.
