Palworld's PlayStation Debut

The PS5 version of Palworld launched globally as announced during the PlayStation State of Play, even featuring a trailer showcasing gear inspired by Horizon Forbidden West's Aloy. Yet, Japanese PlayStation gamers are currently excluded. This delay is strongly linked to ongoing legal action between Nintendo/Pokémon and Palworld's developer, Pocketpair.

Japan Release Date Uncertain

Palworld's Japanese Twitter (X) account confirmed the global release, excluding Japan, and apologized for the delay. They stated that a Japanese release date remains undetermined.

The reason for the delay is widely speculated to be the patent infringement lawsuit filed by Nintendo in a Tokyo court. This lawsuit seeks injunctions and damages, potentially impacting Palworld's continued operation and even leading to its removal from the market. The uncertainty surrounding the legal battle directly impacts the game's availability in Japan.
