June Update: Pokémon Go Adds Exciting New Features
- Pokémon Go’s highly anticipated June update is just on the horizon
- Shadow Regice, Gigantamax Inteleon, and Gigantamax Cinderace take center stage
- A dynamic lineup of five-star raids, Max Battles, and special events rounds out the excitement
While persistent rain may have dampened the arrival of pre-summer skies for many, Pokémon Go is turning up the heat with a wave of thrilling new content. The game isn’t just hitting the road—it’s bringing a powerhouse update packed with rare Pokémon, intense battles, and engaging events throughout June.
Kicking things off, trainers can look forward to encountering three standout Pokémon: the elusive Shadow Regice, along with Gigantamax forms of Inteleon and Cinderace. These fan favorites will be available through special encounters and unique battle formats, offering fresh strategies and exciting rewards.
The Max Battle roster features five Dynamax Pokémon appearing across Power Spots during specific windows: Chansey (June 2nd), Machop (June 9th–15th), Hatenna (June 16th–22nd), Caterpie (June 23rd–29th), and Shuckle (June 30th–July 6th). These limited-time appearances make for perfect opportunities to catch powerful allies and boost your team.
Of course, no major update would be complete without high-stakes five-star Raids. Trainers can challenge Tapu Bulu (June 3rd–5th), Groudon (June 5th–14th), Kyogre (June 14th–23rd), and Cobalion (June 30th–July 8th). Shiny variants will also be available, giving lucky players a chance to add rare, sparkling versions to their collections.
Mega!
Shadow Raids will spotlight Shadow Regice, appearing during select weekends in June. Meanwhile, Mega Raids will feature powerful evolutions including Mega Altaria (June 3rd–5th), Mega Abomasnow (June 5th–14th), Mega Manectric (June 14th–23rd), Mega Beedrill (June 23rd–30th), and Mega Aggron (June 30th–July 8th)—each bringing unique type advantages and raid strategies.
Event fans won’t be left out either. The Serene Retreat event kicks things off from May 30th to June 3rd, followed by Instrumental Wonders, Phantom Ruins, Community Days, and a mysterious surprise event yet to be revealed. With something happening almost every week, there’s no shortage of reasons to stay active and engaged.
