A Sequel Expected Within a Few Years
Warner Bros. Discovery, having sold over 24 million copies of the hit action RPG Hogwarts Legacy, officially announced its intention to develop a sequel. As reported by Variety, CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels revealed this news during the Bank of America’s 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference.
Wiedenfels stated, "A sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is a top priority for us in the coming years. We anticipate significant growth from our games business, and this project is a key part of that strategy."
Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Games' David Haddad highlighted the game's remarkable replayability as a major factor in its success. In an interview with Variety, Haddad emphasized, "Many players have revisited the game multiple times." He expressed pride not only in sales figures and replayability, but also in the game's unique achievement: "It brought Harry Potter to life in a fresh, immersive way for gamers, allowing them to truly inhabit this world and story."
Haddad believes this resonated deeply with fans, propelling Hogwarts Legacy to become the year's best-selling game. He added, "That's a position usually occupied by established franchises' sequels, so we're incredibly proud of this accomplishment."
Game8 was particularly impressed by Hogwarts Legacy's visuals, considering it a truly stunning experience for Harry Potter fans. For a detailed review, please see our link below!
