The recently wrapped open beta for Dune: Awakening gave players access to the first 20-25 hours of gameplay and other key features. During the Global LAN Party livestream on May 10, an exploit was discovered that enabled players to permanently stun rivals in PvP combat.

This stunlock exploit occurs when a player continuously uses fast knife strikes against an opponent with no stamina. The victim is then unable to defend themselves, activate abilities, or retreat, leaving them trapped in an endless stagger state.

Prominent streamers like Tyler1 and Shroud highlighted the problem during their live sessions, drawing significant attention to the issue.

Funcom Vows to Resolve Issue Prior to Launch

Funcom developers, present during the Global LAN Party livestream, saw the stunlock exploit firsthand and promptly acknowledged the bug. Dune: Awakening World Director Jeff Gagné and Lead Producer Ole Andreas Haley committed to resolving this problem before the official launch.

"We've got this under control," Gagné stated. "It's not a case of us being caught off guard. A fix is already in the works." With the beta now complete, the team has received considerable praise alongside crucial feedback to optimize the game for its impending release.
