Bloodborne Remaster Speculation Runs Wild Due to Official Instagram Posts
Years of fervent calls for a Bloodborne remaster have reached a fever pitch, thanks to recent Instagram activity from FromSoftware and PlayStation Italia.
Instagram Posts Reignite Bloodborne Remaster Hype
A Beloved Classic Deserves a Modern Update
Bloodborne, the critically acclaimed 2015 RPG, remains a fan favorite. Many players eagerly await the chance to revisit Yharnam's gothic streets on modern consoles. While no official announcement has been made, recent social media posts have sparked intense speculation.
On August 24th, FromSoftware shared three evocative images featuring the game's title and the hashtag "#bloodborne." One showcased Djura, a memorable hunter encountered in Old Yharnam; the others captured the player character exploring Yharnam's heart and the eerie Charnel Lane.
While these posts could be simple nostalgia trips, the Bloodborne community, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), has meticulously analyzed every detail, hunting for clues hinting at a remaster. PlayStation Italia's similar August 17th post, asking fans to share their favorite locations, only fueled the flames. The comments section is filled with passionate pleas for a Yharnam return, with many humorously suggesting a PC or modern console release as the most iconic location.
The Hunt for a Modern Bloodborne Continues: Nearly a Decade Later
Released exclusively for PS4 in 2015, Bloodborne has cultivated a fiercely loyal fanbase, earning widespread praise and recognition as one of gaming's greats. Yet, a sequel or even a remaster remains elusive.
Fans point to the 2020 Demon's Souls remake as a potential precedent. However, the lengthy wait for that remake (over a decade) casts a shadow of doubt. As Bloodborne's tenth anniversary approaches, the desire for a remastered version intensifies.
In a February interview with Eurogamer, director Hidetaka Miyazaki acknowledged the potential benefits of modern hardware for a remaster, stating the increased accessibility for players is important.
However, Miyazaki's comments, while hopeful, don't guarantee a remaster. Unlike Elden Ring, Bloodborne's IP is held by Sony, limiting FromSoftware's control over its future. Miyazaki has reiterated in other interviews (like one with IGN) that he cannot comment on Bloodborne's future due to IP ownership.
Bloodborne's passionate community continues to hope for a remake. Despite its critical and commercial success, its availability remains limited to PS4. Whether these recent hints translate into reality remains to be seen.
