In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the official Bethesda account revealed plans for a live announcement scheduled for 8:00 AM PT / 11:00 AM ET, streaming simultaneously on both YouTube and Twitch. While the tweet itself offered no explicit details, the visual clue in the form of a large "IV" at the center of the promotional image—set against what appears to be a recreation of iconic Oblivion artwork—leaves little to the imagination.
Talks of an Oblivion remake have circulated for years, but recent developments have made the rumors increasingly hard to ignore. The earliest hints emerged during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023, when a leaked internal Bethesda schedule from 2020 surfaced, listing a planned Oblivion remaster for fiscal year 2022. At the time, many dismissed it as an outdated or potentially canceled project due to the timeline.
However, earlier this year, new leaks reignited the conversation—this time suggesting that the project had evolved into a full-scale remake, with development support coming from external partner Virtuos. Then, just days ago, further leaks—including in-game screenshots and visuals—seemed to confirm the project’s active status.
According to these reports, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered will launch across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms, with a Deluxe Edition featuring classic add-ons such as the ever-popular Horse Armor.
Make sure to tune in tomorrow to catch the official reveal and learn whether all the rumors are true—and what other surprises Bethesda may have in store.
