Every Assassin's Creed Game Tier List
Ubisoft's latest stealth-action open-world adventure, Assassin's Creed: Shadows, has arrived, sparking the age-old question: where does it rank among its many predecessors? With over 30 games in the franchise, we're focusing solely on the mainline entries—leaving out mobile, side-scrolling, VR titles, and spin-offs like Bloodlines or Liberation.
The journey began in 2007 with Desmond Miles and Altaïr. Now, 18 years later, Assassin's Creed: Shadows transports players to 16th-century Japan as Naoe and Yasuke. This 14th core series installment prompted me to create an IGN Tier List ranking based purely on personal enjoyment. Check out my list below:

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag remains my personal favorite, its blend of island exploration, naval combat, and vibrant characters creating an unparalleled Assassin's Creed experience. It shares the S-tier with Assassin's Creed II, the game that propelled the series to global recognition. Valhalla, surprisingly to some perhaps, sits in A-tier. I thoroughly enjoyed its Viking-inspired combat and the addictive Orlog minigame. Unity also earns a spot in A-tier, its recreation of revolutionary-era Paris remaining visually stunning a decade later.
Disagree? Feel Valhalla is overly bloated? Think Assassin's Creed II is overrated? Create your own tier list below and compare your rankings (S, A, B, C, and D tiers) with the entire IGN community!
