As with most 8BitDo products, the Pro 2 offers incredible value for under $50. The "pro" moniker isn’t just for show—it comes equipped with customizable back buttons and remappable options via the 8BitDo Ultimate Software app. It supports a wide range of systems, including Nintendo Switch, PC, Steam Deck, iOS, and Android devices.

Since our review of the 8BitDo Pro 2 in 2021, the controller underwent a significant upgrade with the introduction of Hall effect joysticks. This change effectively eliminates stick drift, enhancing both component longevity and overall smoothness during gameplay.

Although Nintendo hasn’t officially confirmed compatibility between all Bluetooth-enabled controllers and the Nintendo Switch 2, the original Joy-Con and Pro Controller are supported. Based on this, it’s reasonable to assume the 8BitDo Pro 2 will work just fine.

Will Tariffs Impact 8BitDo Controller Prices?

Given that 8BitDo products are manufactured and shipped from China, this deal might be your best chance to snag one of these controllers (and other 8BitDo products) for a while, as U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports have already been implemented.

8BitDo briefly paused shipments to the U.S., citing tariffs as the reason, but later resumed deliveries. While there’s no certainty about future pricing, it seems quite probable that costs will rise over time.
