These cards are part of the "Through the Ages" bonus sheet included in the larger main set. They are reprints of existing Magic cards, reimagined with iconic artwork and characters from various Final Fantasy games. While they don't introduce new mechanics or unique cards like those in the recently showcased Commander decks, they offer stunning art that spans the entire history of the Final Fantasy series.

0$7.99 at TCGPlayerUnlike the cards in the main set, the "Through the Ages" cards aren't legal in Magic's Standard format, though they retain legality if the original card was already legal. These cards serve as alternate art versions and can be found in both the Collector Boosters and one in every three Play Boosters, which are used for Limited events like Draft and Sealed.
If you're planning to dive into this set, whether at your local game store or digitally on platforms like Magic: The Gathering Arena, you'll likely encounter these cards often. Five of the six cards are Rares, making them less common, but Thrum of the Vestige, an Uncommon, is a reskin of the widely recognized Lightning Bolt. This particular card could significantly influence the set's dynamics.
The Warrior of Light reprint of Jodah, the Unifier, is sure to be a hit. Jodah is a powerful and popular Commander, and the art used here is Amano's from the original Final Fantasy Japanese boxart. Similarly, Amano's iconic art for Final Fantasy 4's Cecil Harvey has been repurposed for Tymna the Weaver, one of Magic's strongest partner commanders, which has only been reprinted once before. These cards will be available physically as part of the larger Final Fantasy set on June 13, with digital versions launching on MTG Arena and MTGO on June 10. Even if you're a Final Fantasy fan not yet into Magic, there's excitement to be had, as FF7 Remake series director Tetsuya Nomura hinted at a unique design for Sephiroth on one of the cards.
