Según los informes, Simu Liu, la estrella del Shang-chi de Marvel, está intentando resucitar la adaptación cinematográfica cancelada de Days Dogs . Newsweek informó la respuesta de Liu a un fanático en X/Twitter, afirmando que está activamente "trabajando con los titulares de derechos para llevar a los perros durmientes a la pantalla grande".

El proyecto, inicialmente anunciado en 2017 con Donnie Yen adjunto a Star, desapareció un año después. Yen confirmó recientemente su cancelación, citando años de tiempo invertido, esfuerzo y fondos personales, solo para ver que el proyecto finalmente no se materializa debido a la naturaleza impredecible de Hollywood.
