Allah says in the Quran:

"And establish prayer for My remembrance" (20:14),

"Successful indeed are the believers, who are humble in their prayers" (23:1-2),

"...and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater..." (29:45)

From these verses, we understand that Namaz reminds us of Allah, instills humility, and prevents us from immorality and wrongdoing. However, the reality often differs.
