CD Projekt Red устанавливает новый стандарт разработки NPC в The Witcher 4. Следуя отзывам о Cyberpunk 2077 и The Witcher 3, студия стремится создать по-настоящему захватывающий мир, в котором каждый неигровой персонаж чувствует себя живым.

Директор игры Себастьян Калемба объяснил их подход: «У нас есть правило: каждый NPC должен выглядеть так, будто он живет своей жизнью со своей историей».

Эта приверженность очевидна в первом трейлере, демонстрирующем деревню Стромфорд. Жители деревни придерживаются уникальных суеверий, поклоняясь лесному божеству. Сцена изображает девушку, молящуюся в лесу, пока Цири не прибудет на битву с монстром.

Калемба далее уточнил: «Мы стремимся сделать неигровых персонажей максимально реалистичными – от внешнего вида до выражений лица и поведения. Это создаст еще более глубокое погружение, чем раньше. Мы действительно пытаемся установить новую планку качества».

Разработчики планируют наполнить каждую деревню и персонажа уникальными чертами и повествованиями, отражающими культурные нюансы и верования изолированных сообществ.
