Pesten With Cards is an iconic Dutch card game whose name translates to "Bullying With Cards." Similar versions exist worldwide under names like Mau-Mau, Crazy Eights, Shedding, Puque, Чешский Дурак, Фараон, Крокодил, Tschau Sepp, and Uno. The objective remains consistent: be the first to discard all your cards by declaring "Last Card" before playing your final card - failure to do so results in drawing two penalty cards.

The game accommodates multiple decks including jokers. Each player receives seven cards to start, with remaining cards forming a face-down stock pile. Gameplay begins by revealing the top card, though special Pest-cards appearing initially must be honored as if the dealer played them.

Core Gameplay Mechanics

On your turn, you must play:

A card matching the current pile's number or suit
A Joker or Jack (playable on any card)

When unable to play, draw from stock - if drawn card is playable, you may choose to place it immediately or keep it.

Last Card Protocol

The crucial "Last Card" rule requires announcing when down to your final card via the game's dedicated button:

Failure to declare = draw 2 penalty cards
False declarations = same penalty
Final cards cannot be special action cards
