Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide

Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord located within the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to defeat this formidable foe.

Locating the Lifer

The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. An accessible entrance is situated southwest of the Resonance Beacon near Oakheart Highcourt. Players can climb the walls or utilize the Flight function to reach it.

The Lifer Board Game: A Strategic Advantage

The Lifer is positioned beside a six-piece board game. Players control black pieces, the Lifer white. Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens corresponding maze walls and gates. Winning isn't necessary for combat, but it's crucial for buff removal. Engaging the Lifer before buff removal is highly discouraged.

Removing the Lifer's Buffs: The Key to Victory

The Lifer possesses seven buffs; four are removable using Stakes of Imbalance, while three are permanent. A glowing yellow module behind the Lifer displays these buffs.

Removable Buffs (using Stakes of Imbalance):

  • Growing Loneliness: HP recovery after 2 seconds of inactivity.
  • Desire for Escape: Increased ATK and escalating DMG over time.
  • Impending Stalemate: Stacking ATK increase upon dealing DMG.
  • Decay of Time: Significant elemental resistance and increased Max HP.

Permanent Buffs (cannot be removed):

  • Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
  • Endless Game: Reduced Immobilization duration.
  • Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after significant DMG.

Obtaining Stakes of Imbalance:

Use the Sensor tool near the Lifer to locate four purple lines leading to four outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to these rooms. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake of Imbalance (marked with a white glow). One room requires defeating Tacet Discords, another breaking Friable Rocks, and one is simply on a table.

Place each Stake of Imbalance in the corresponding module to remove a buff. The purple line will turn yellow upon successful removal.

Defeating the Lifer

After removing all four removable buffs, engage the Lifer. The fight will be significantly easier. Winning the board game or selecting "Fight it out!" initiates combat. Without its buffs, the Lifer poses minimal threat.

Rewards for defeating the Lifer:

  • First victory: Premium Supply Chest
  • Second victory: Premium Supply Chest + three Basic Supply Chests
  • Third victory: Advanced Supply Chest + three Standard Supply Chests

Buff re-enablement is possible, increasing difficulty, but offers no additional achievements.

Achievements:

  • The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
  • The Ring of The Lifer: Obtain all nine chests (three victories).
  • Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game.
  • Alpha Go: Lose the board game 10 times.

For the board game, focus on preventing the Lifer from creating lines. Its mistakes will provide opportunities for victory.
