"Warriors: Abyss, a Roguelite Twist on Classic Franchise, Launches Today"

Fresh on the heels of the acclaimed Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo has launched another thrilling title in the musou genre—Warriors: Abyss. This latest game adds an exciting roguelite twist to the beloved Warriors franchise, and it's available starting today.

Unveiled during the recent PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss invites players to assemble a squad of iconic characters from the Warriors universe to battle through hordes of enemies. With its isometric camera view, the game draws inspiration from both Diablo and the critically acclaimed roguelite, Hades. Players will navigate their team through the depths of "hell," facing off against demonic foes.

Today's reveal showcased familiar faces such as Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sunshang Xiang, all ready to join your forces. According to the PlayStation Blog, you can recruit and add various characters to your team over time, enhancing your tactical options with summoning actions. At launch, players can command up to seven active heroes in battle, with a roster of 100 warriors to choose from.

Koei Tecmo has plans to expand the game further by introducing new characters, starting with those from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. The developer hinted at future updates, suggesting that characters from beyond the Warriors series might also make an appearance.

Warriors: Abyss is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Nintendo Switch enthusiasts will have to wait until February 13, 2025, for their chance to play. Additionally, those interested in the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set should grab the game before March 14, 2025, to take advantage of this special offer.
