The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Premiere Release Date Confirmed – IGN Fan Fest 2025
The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Premiere Date Revealed at IGN Fan Fest 2025
IGN Fan Fest 2025 brought an exclusive announcement: The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 premieres May 4, 2025. The reveal included an exclusive clip and interviews with key cast and crew.
Lauren Cohan (Maggie) discussed Maggie's emotional state entering Season 2: "Sadly, not everything is rosy. We're dealing with relatable family dynamics – a teenage son and Ginny in my care – amidst the apocalypse. It's about family life, survival, and navigating those tensions before the next big threat emerges."
Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) shared insights into Negan's precarious position: "Negan is firmly under the control of The Dama and The Croat, in unfamiliar territory. He'll scheme his way out, but it won't be easy. He's struggling at the season's start." He also reflected on Lucille, his iconic barbed-wire bat: "I love that prop! It brings back memories, though maybe not for Lauren!"
Scott Gimple, chief content officer, teased the season's conflict: "There's no single big bad. The power dynamics shift, creating complexity and political maneuvering before things get physical."
IGN also showcased the opening minutes of Season 2's premiere episode.
Catch The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 on AMC, May 4, 2025. Stay tuned for more news from IGN Fan Fest 2025.
