Ubisoft Hypes Assassin's Creed Shadows, With a Twist

It's been a while since we last discussed Ubisoft, hasn't it? Next Thursday marks the release of their highly anticipated game, Assassin's Creed Shadows. The success of this title could very well shape the future of the entire corporation, making it a pivotal moment for Ubisoft.

Today, Ubisoft's official channel released a new video dedicated to the game. You might think this is the launch trailer, but the title labels it as a TV commercial, which raises some questions. The video itself isn't bad—it's smooth, cinematic, and visually impressive. However, the concern lies in Ubisoft's approach to marketing. By pushing the game through traditional media and uploading a TV ad to their YouTube channel, it seems they are taking a more conventional route. While there's nothing inherently wrong with this, it doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the game's release strategy.

Speculation aside, the video does an excellent job of showcasing the differences in gameplay and fighting styles between the two main protagonists. The setting of Japan is portrayed stunningly, yet one cannot judge the entire game based on a one-minute cinematic. We'll need to wait until the release to fully assess Assassin's Creed Shadows.
