Top SEGA Stars Are Coming to Sonic Rumble in its First-Ever Crossover!

Sonic Rumble, although yet to launch globally, has already kicked off an exciting crossover event known as Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This event is currently live and will run until May 7th, just ahead of the game's worldwide launch on May 8th. Sonic Rumble is in its soft launch phase and is accessible in over 40 countries. It underwent pre-launch phases in 2024; the first in regions including the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia, followed by the second in countries like Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, and South Africa.

What’s in Store?

If you're in one of the regions where Sonic Rumble has soft-launched, you can participate in the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover event. The event brings back the Altered Beast crew, with the Werewolf transformation available for free. Fans of the nostalgic beast modes can also acquire the Werebear and Weredragon, although their availability depends on your payment method. The Weredragon is part of the Premium Pass, while the Werebear might be purchasable with regular rings.

The crossover also features characters from Fantasy Zone, with Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa joining the fray. Opa-Opa is included in the Premium Pass, whereas Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments purchasable with standard rings, at 700 rings per fragment.

Additionally, AiAi and MeeMee from Super Monkey Ball are part of this crossover event. To get AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. You can get a sneak peek of the event in the video below.

Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover

During the event, players can earn additional rewards by collecting SEGA logos in matches. While it may seem unusual for the event to be active before the global release, SEGA has confirmed that most of these pre-release rewards will be available again in the future.

This first crossover event showcases Sonic Rumble's deep dive into SEGA's rich history and current offerings. The inclusion of characters from various SEGA franchises like monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and transformed beasts interacting with Sonic and his friends adds a promising and vibrant touch to Sonic Rumble.

You can download Sonic Rumble from the Google Play Store if it's available in your region or wait for its global release on May 8th.
